Distillers of the world’s finest sipping alcohol often proclaim the unique qualities of their local water source and its vital role in creating their spirits. Mezcal is no different, at least the best mezcal is.

The water we use to create Eléctrico Mezcal comes from beneath our feet. We do not buy it from far away, as many distillers do. This benefits the environment and connects us to our home's unique heritage of San Baltazar Guelavila.

The San Baltazar Guelavila valley is fertile thanks to its high annual rainfall and the mineral-rich soil and rock beneath it. Over thousands of years, that rain has filtered through the soil and collected in the bedrock, gathering the unique trace elements.

The Eléctrico Mezcal well is 20 feet deep, but its site was chosen carefully. Maestro Mezcalero Cirino sought the help of a local water diviner who doused for the confluence of two of our local aquifers. The water that comes from it is well away from any residences or industry and above the town. It is clean, crystalline, and delicious and helps give Eléctrico Mezcal its unique smoothness and complex flavor profile.
